Best Wines to Pair with Kale and Sausage
Ronald Newman founded Milestone Investment Properties, LLC, in July 2010. Based in Puyallup, Washington, the company provides services in the acquisition and design of multifamily properties, as well as overseeing the development of construction through its management division. Ron Newman handles the overall aspects of the company through operational management.
Ronald Newman’s interests out of the workplace include cooking, and he enjoys pairing foods with the right wines. Below are three suggestions for pairing with kale and sausage, a simple, rustic dish that incorporates white onion, garlic, white beans, and sun-dried tomatoes.
Michael Austin, the writer of the Chicago Tribune’s wine column, “The Pour Man,” suggests pairing the dish with either of the following three French red wines. The pairings were chosen by Ryan Arnold, a sommelier and the divisional wine director for Lettuce Entertain You restaurants.
1. The 2014 Albert Boxler Grand Cru Sommerberg Riesling, from Alsace, tempers the mild heat and slight spice of the sausage.
2. The 2014 Laurent Tribut Chablis, from Burgundy, matches the weight of the beans in the dish, but also pairs perfectly with the greens.
3. The 2013 Domaine Berthet-Bondet Trio Cotes du Jura, from Jura, has high acidity and low tannins, which make it an ideal complement to the taste of the sausage.
