Prison Ministry of Seattle's Union Gospel Mission

An expert in commercial and residential property management, Ronald Newman is a managing member of Milestone Companies in Puyallup, Washington. At Milestone, Ronald Newman has delivered profits on large-scale projects with budgets of up to $12 million. Also a philanthropist, Ron Newman supports regional charities, including Seattle's Union Gospel Mission.

The Union Gospel Mission, a Better Business Bureau Foundation-accredited charity, began providing services and food to individuals who were homeless during the Great Depression. With an overall goal of fighting poverty, the organization focuses on the five problem areas of hunger, homelessness, poverty, addiction, and a high-risk population through such programs as prison ministry.

The prison ministry program operates at sites including the King County Correctional Facility in Seattle, where workers provide Bible studies and church services to inmates. In addition, the program delivers life skills and transitional services to help those who are nearing the ends of their sentences renter society and avoid recidivism. The prison ministry initiative also recognizes the damage incarceration inflicts on families and in response to this, delivers gifts to children whose parents are incarcerated.
