World Vision Brings Clean Water to Millions

Milestone Investment Properties, LLC, Manager Ronald (“Ron”) Newman oversees all aspects of the growing Washington company’s operation. Outside of work, Ronald Newman supports several local and national Christian charities, including World Vision.

More than 1,000 children succumb to ailments caused by unsafe water every day in the developing world. Children who do not die are often malnourished, dehydrated, and too sick to attend school. World Vision seeks to help these children and their communities through the gift of clean, accessible water.

World Vision has brought clean water to more than 10 million people over the years, thanks to donations from all over the world. Donors can choose specific gifts according to their interests or ability to give.

A $3,000 donation can bring a small well to a community in need, while smaller gifts can provide foot-powered pumps or fund shares of wells. Other gifts fund rainwater storage, purification systems, hygienic latrines, and more.

Hiking Fun at Lake Chelan in Eastern Washington

Ronald (“Ron”) Newman serves as the manager of Puyallup, Washington-based Milestone Investment Properties, LLC. When his professional life allows it, Ronald Newman enjoys taking frequent trips across the mountains to boat, ski, and play at Lake Chelan.

Located near Wenatchee, Lake Chelan is Washington’s largest natural lake. A local favorite for camping, hiking, and otherwise enjoying the great outdoors year round, it provides many opportunities for motorcyclists, equestrians, and hikers alike.

During the summer months, 250 miles of well-groomed trails are available to the public, more than 60 miles of which are open to motorcycles. The rest are open to non-motorized vehicles such as bicycles, horses, and other animals in addition to hikers.

One of the most popular trail systems in the area, the Echo Ridge trails offer 25 miles of beautiful scenery and trails suitable for every level of ability. More adventurous hikers can tackle the Devil’s Backbone. This 13-mile trek is not suitable for children or accessible by standard passenger car, but it offers excitement for the well-prepared Chelan traveler.
