Seinfeld's Super Bowl Numbers and Syndication

As a managing member of The Milestone Companies, Ronald Newman has completed numerous housing development projects in the Washington area. Ronald "Ron" Newman has more than 20 years experience in real estate development, and in his spare time he enjoys watching Seinfeld.

Created by Larry David and starring Jerry Seinfeld, Jason Alexander, Michael Richards, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Seinfeld was one of the most popular sitcoms in the 1990s. The series' finale in 1998 was watched by 76.3 million people, which was just 14 million fewer than Super Bowl XXXII, the year's most-watched program. Ignoring Super Bowls, the Seinfeld finale was the most watched entertainment show on TV since the Cheers finale five years prior.

Eighteen years since its last episode, Seinfeld remains relevant through record-breaking syndication numbers. Currently in its fifth cycle, the show had earned $3.1 billion from syndication through 2014. In April of 2015 video streaming service Hulu acquired the rights to the sitcom for $875,000 an episode.

Tacoma Rescue Mission Offers Educational Opportunities

Ronald Newman of Puyallup, Washington, serves as the managing director of Milestone Investment Properties, a group of companies specializing in rental property design, building, and management. While Ronald “Ron” Newman oversees all aspects of Milestone, outside of work, he supports the Tacoma Rescue Mission.

The Tacoma Rescue Mission goes beyond offering a hot meal and an overnight stay to the thousands of individuals in Tacoma, Washington, without a home or place to stay. Not only does the mission provide food, clean clothing, and a place to sleep, but it offers individuals the opportunity to improve their employment prospects by completing their education.

Almost two in five adults experiencing homelessness don't have a high school diploma. At the Tacoma Rescue Mission, adults over the age of 21 can earn high school credits to graduate from high school. They are also given support if they choose to study and test for the GED. Tutors are available to work with students one-on-one or in small groups.

World Vision’s Spark a Child’s Digital Future Program in Africa

Washington resident Ronald Newman serves as a managing member of the Milestone Companies, a real estate development and management company. Dedicated to serving his community, Ronald “Ron” Newman of Milestone supports several local and international organizations such as World Vision.

Although many individuals in the United States and other developed countries take technology for granted, World Vision has been using technology to promote its mission of helping communities tackle injustice and poverty. One of the organization’s many efforts is the Spark a Child’s Digital Future program.

In partnership with local government and corporate organizations, World Vision is establishing low-cost computer labs in rural Africa. These labs feature secure Internet and power connections, digital education materials that are relevant to the local communities, and extra-durable computers.

By building these labs, the organization hopes to expand children’s understanding of technology. This will give them the opportunity to develop essential skills for the future while also helping them learn and connect with the world. Children are not the only ones who benefit from these labs. Community members and teachers also have access to the technology after school is done for the day.

The 2013 Seattle Seahawks

For more than six years, Ronald Newman has led Puyallup company Milestone Investment Properties, LLC, as manager. Milestone's Ronald Newman is an avid fan of Washington sports and a follower of the Seattle Seahawks.

The 2013 Seattle Seahawks earned the franchise its Super Bowl championship. Like many championship teams of the past, the Seahawks experienced success as a result of world-class defense.

Over the course of the 2013 season, the Seattle defense allowed just 4,378 yards, or about 273 yards per game, the lowest total in the league. Seattle had the top-ranked pass coverage and a top-10 rush defense, a combination yielding a league-low 231 points allowed.

The league’s top-rated defense held seven opponents to 10 points or less during the regular season, highlighted by a 23-0 win over the New York Giants in Week 15. Seattle’s defense remained stable throughout the postseason, managing 23-15 and 23-17 victories over the New Orleans Saints and San Francisco 49ers, respectively.

The team’s defensive prowess was best demonstrated in the Super Bowl contest with the Denver Broncos. The Seahawks generated 43 points for the game while limiting the Broncos to just one touchdown.

The game saw the Seahawks take an insurmountable 36-0 lead deep into the third quarter before the defense finally relented. The Most Valuable Player award went to linebacker Malcolm Smith.

Improving Skiing Balance

Ronald Newman serves as a managing member at the Milestone Companies, a Washington-based group that completes real estate development projects in the area. When he’s not busy with work, Ronald “Ron” Newman enjoys taking advantage of Washington’s regular winter snow and is very fond of snow skiing.

Good balance is a key component to good skiing. A part of good balance comes from maintaining the correct skiing posture. Ideally, the feet should be spread apart at a comfortable distance with the knees and ankles slightly flexed. Further, the spine should be curved naturally and the hips and shoulders should be aligned. In addition to posture, skiers must consider how they place their weight. Ideally, weight should be placed on the feet equally without favoring either the ball or heel of the foot. This keeps the ski boot from getting overloaded at either the back or front ends. Additionally, putting more weight on the outside ski, while seemingly counterintuitive, helps skiers stay more balanced while turning.

If skiers find that getting the right balance is difficult, the problem might be their strength. For many individuals, trying a strength exercise at the same time as a balance exercise is much more challenging than strength alone, which often results in poor balance while skiing. Rather than ignoring it, skiers can do exercises that combine balance and strength. Squatting on a balance board is a great exercise for improving skiing balance. Combining both aspects had better results than strength training alone because it trains the body to stay balanced during varying movements. Most skiers will notice improvements in skiing balance within just one month.

Visiting Lake Chelan during the Different Seasons

Possessing over three decades of business and leadership experience, Ronald Newman serves as a managing member of the Milestone Companies, a Washington-based real estate development and management group. Outside of his work at Milestone, Ronald “Ron” Newman enjoys traveling to Lake Chelan every month.

Offering a unique mix of agriculture, shopping, and recreation, Lake Chelan is a popular vacation spot throughout the year. The area is typically busiest between June and August due to the large number of families. While visiting during this time is certainly crowded, the lake is full of kid-friendly activities and the surrounding greenery and fall are at their fullest. By September, the crowds start thinning out. Autumn is a great time for romantic vacations to Lake Chelan and most visitors during the months of September, October, and November take advantage of the slower pace to truly enjoy the area’s nature.

From December through February, Lake Chelan experiences its winter; however, this is the least crowded time to visit. Although these months are the coldest of the year, visitors can explore the area at their own pace, thanks to the nearly nonexistent crowds. There are plenty of winter activities to keep visitors busy, and the hiking and scenery is rarely affected by the winter weather. Spring is another great time to visit because of the blooming of local flora. The weather is a perfect blend between warm and cold so visitors can enjoy the colorful scenes while hiking or biking along the trails without getting too hot.
