Tacoma Rescue Mission Offers Educational Opportunities

Ronald Newman of Puyallup, Washington, serves as the managing director of Milestone Investment Properties, a group of companies specializing in rental property design, building, and management. While Ronald “Ron” Newman oversees all aspects of Milestone, outside of work, he supports the Tacoma Rescue Mission.

The Tacoma Rescue Mission goes beyond offering a hot meal and an overnight stay to the thousands of individuals in Tacoma, Washington, without a home or place to stay. Not only does the mission provide food, clean clothing, and a place to sleep, but it offers individuals the opportunity to improve their employment prospects by completing their education.

Almost two in five adults experiencing homelessness don't have a high school diploma. At the Tacoma Rescue Mission, adults over the age of 21 can earn high school credits to graduate from high school. They are also given support if they choose to study and test for the GED. Tutors are available to work with students one-on-one or in small groups.
